Projected Portrait
Projected portraits, this was completely out of my element due to the fact that I am accustomed to having the scene already be there and usually I decide where to take the picture, but for this assignment I had to set everything up to compose my pictures. I stumbled upon the idea for my pictures fully by accident because I had no clue how I was going to combine projecting a picture along with placing someone in a certain spot on that picture. I came across this idea when I was trying to print my 10 pictures for the creative writing class, I had picked up a piece of paper and walked across the projectors image with it while a picture was up and noticed that on the paper, the picture was in perfect detail and behind me was a very defined shadow on me and the piece of paper. After some further experimentation with this idea, I discovered that you could have a lot of fun with this because it was almost like you were cropping out the projected pictures with the piece of paper so you are able to distinguish certain parts of the picture you project while also creating a shadow in the background of the person you are photographing. The only thing I did not get to photograph was the view of the paper from behind, the reason I want to do that angle now is because you can see the cropped out part of the projected picture as if it is printed on the paper and the rest of the picture would be darkness if you angled it correctly to get the light of the projector behind the paper.
