Marsh Lands
This photo has a strong sense of fore ground middle ground and background by having the three main layers of foliage within the shot (Branches - Fore ground / Marshland - Middle ground / Trees - Background) The branches act as leading lines guiding the eyes of the viewer into the more vast landscape of the marsh. While taking this photo i considered the distance on the marshland to create a peaceful feeling. This photo also uses the rule of thirds going horizontally which helps direct the viewer to the center of the photo. The branches at the top of the photo are blurry because the camera was focused in on the center of the composition giving it a wide depth of field.
Rocks on a Beach
This picture is a perfect example of a shallow depth of field which causes the viewer to first look at the rocks which are sharply in focus. I used the super-macro setting on my camera to make the lens focus because I held the button down half way to let the camera focus and I adjusted where the square on the screen was and put it over the on the rocks and caused the background to be blurry which gives the photo a mysterious feeling to it because you want to know what is in the background. The point of view, which was from the ground looking outwards gives the beach a never ending feeling. The colors from the sky, water, and trees are very vibrant because of the lighting due to it being the middle of the day, this is one of my more favorite pictures but not my absolute favorite.
Air Force One Landing
This photo has special meaning to me because i have a fascination with airplanes, and not only that this is an extremely famous airplane because it is our commander and chiefs second office and has traveled all around the world. This photo was taken using the motion setting on my camera which i assume uses a fast shudder speed to be able to capture the movement of the airplane about to land. I also like how the power lines in the background connect with the wheels of the plane. The only thing that i dont like about this photo is the building in the background with all the cars because it takes away from the bold plane about to land.
Tree Reflecting on the Water
This was my absolute best reflection photo. The leading lines from the tree leading down to the horizon line on the water attract the viewers eyes down to the focal point along the still pond water. i had to crouch slightly to get the right angle on the tree and the reflection and the reflection creates a very mysterious image if you look at the image as a whole. It was a very cloudy day which made the colors of the photos not really pop but the accent of snow and ice in the foreground and along the banks in the distance add to the photos mood of a winter scene. the only thing that would have made this photo better is if i took it right after snow fell.
Teeter-totter in the Woods
This photo's main composition is landscape but also has aspects of lines from the trees. I took this photo in the Swansea Village Trails and the main focal point is the teeter-totter in the middle of the photo. I orchestrated this photo so that the teeter-totter would be placed perfectly in between an array of trees. i made it so that the trees in the front would be in more focus than the background of the photo.
Pillars Along the Water
This photo is composed of leading lines, reflections, and landscape. The reflections of the wooden pillars and the trees off the water are a little distorted because the moving water which adds to the serene feeling of this photo. Also the random pillars at the bottom of the image create another focal point for the viewer. My favorite part of this photo is the bench on the other side of the water but it is hidden by brush. If i could change one thing about this photo, it would be that i would take the photo when the sky was more blue and there was more light to add to the beauty of the shoot because the clouds make the composition of this shot hazy.
